Why are some brake rotors directional?

For example, these Porsche brake rotors clearly have different "vane" directions. They are designed this way in order to pull more air through them. Due to centrifugal force, the design allows a path of less resistance while the rotors are spinning. Airflow dynamics show that it is much easier throwing air out than forcing it in, causing a better heat dissipation effect.
